About us - Doctrinal Statement
DOCTRINAL STATEMENTS
OF THE BIBLICAL MISSION ASSOCIATION
1. We believe that the whole Bible, meaning all sixty six books of the Holy Scripture, is the Word of God, infallible in original, revealed and inspired by God in all its parts. It is the highest, absolute and final authority in relation to beliefs and moral living for all men (2 Ti 3:16, Ro 15:4, 2 P 1:21).
2. We believe in personal God, Creator of the spiritual and physical world, perfect in all His attributes, eternal, without beginning and end, existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Gen 1:1, Mt 28:19, 2 Cor 13:3).
3. We believe that a man was created by God and in the image of God (Gen 1:26-27). We confess that with the fall of Adam, all mankind fell into sin. As the result people are separated from God’s presence and as such, are lost. (Ro 3:23, 6:23, Is 59:1-2).
4. We believe that Christ came in the flesh, was without sin, (2 Cor 5:21), died on the cross for the sins of the whole world, was put into the grave, rose from the dead with a glorified body, ascended into heavens where he sat at the right hand of God the Father. He lives for ever and is the only High Priest and Mediator between God and men. (J 14:6, Hbr 4:14, 7:24-25, 1 Ti 2;5).
5. We believe that a man is saved not by his own merits but only by God’s grace on the grounds of faith in Jesus Christ and His Work of the Cross. (Eph 2:8-10, Acts 4:12, Ro 10:9). We confess that the results of the saving faith are sanctified life, fellowship with God through God’s Word and prayer, and a striving for fellowship with other believers (Hbr 10:25, 1 J 3:14, 5:1).
6. We confess that the Christ’s Church embraces all true believers in Christ Jesus, it means those, for whom Jesus Christ is personal Savior and Lord. (2 Ti 2:19, 1 J 5:10-13). We confess that Jesus Christ is the only Foundation of the Church, her only Head and Cornerstone (1 Cor 3:11, Eph 1:22, 2:20, Col 1:18).
7. We believe that God’s desire is that all men be saved (1Ti 2:4, 2P 3:9), thus evangelism and mission, meaning taking the gospel to all nations and calling the people to reconcile themselves with God through Jesus Christ, is not of human origin, but a realization of Christ’s command for the Church. (Mt 28:19-20, Acts 17:30, 2 Cor 5:20).
Additional distinctives:
1. We believe that it is a right of every man to have access to God’s Word in his mother tongue.
2. We expect all members of BMA to accept the above doctrinal principles without argument.
We recognize differences in practice and preferences existing in different churches, however relation within BMA should not be the platform for discussion on them.
3. We confess that the above principles are the ground for co-operation of Christians from different denominations within Biblical Mission Association.
