About us - Cooperation - Wycliffe Bible Translators
Biblical Mission Association (BMA) is a member organization of Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Wycliffe is part of an international association of organizations
dedicated to seeing God's Word become accessible to all people in the
language that speaks to their heart. Wycliffe’s staff is passionate about
the glory of God through the translation of His Word for all peoples of
the earth in the language they understand best.
We’re confident it’s not God’s plan to abandon any part of the world.
People without a Bible translation remain unreached. Our work in the Bible
translation movement flows out of our identity as followers of Jesus.
Jesus makes it clear the gospel must be taken to the whole world before
the end comes (Matt 24:14). Translation is therefore integral to missions.
In 1999, we at Wycliffe realized five generations would be lost without
any Scripture - that was sobering. We couldn't keep going as we were. That
was when Vision 2025 was introduced - to see a Bible translation program
in progress in every language still needing one by 2025. Since then, an
exciting realignment has taken place and we're seeing God do the
impossible.
The beliefs we share provide us with the motivation for our ministry.
These foundational beliefs guide our plans and practices. In all we do, we
desire to not only spread the message of Christ, but also to
incarnate—live out—that message.
Each person who participates in the Bible translation movement has been
created by God, gifted by God, and called by God. While we are a diverse
community, we are driven by a single passion: The glory of God through the
translation of the Word for every person on earth in the language they
understand best."
